SASL Single ASsignment Language or Saint Andrews Static Language. (Not to be confused with ). A language designed by Professor in 1976. SASL is a derivative of with infinite data structures. It is fully but weakly typed. It was designed for teaching functional programming, with very simple syntax. A version of the has been written in SASL. Example syntax: def fac n = n = 0 -> 1 ; n x fac(n-1) {(ftp://a.cs.uiuc.edu/uiuc/kamin.distr/distr/sasl.p)}. See also {Kamin's interpreters}.
